ELWA Hospital
Since its HIV program began in 2000, ELWA has become the “treatment home” for about 1000 HIV positive clients on antiretroviral therapy, with additional patients being counseled and monitored towards the goal of starting treatment. Today, the program includes a monthly support group for adults and children, training for people living with HIV, home visits providing both counseling and treatment, and community outreach activities. Following the impacts of Ebola, the ELWA team is currently revitalising its HIV efforts.
